WASHINGTON – Fort Worth’s Van Cliburn received the Presidential Medal of Freedom on Wednesday, recognized by President Bush for his “perfect touch at the piano.” He was one of 11 individuals awarded the nation’s highest civilian honor during a White House ceremony.
